This civil complaint names Madeline S. Lee as Defendant in a lawsuit alleging sustained defamation, reputational harm, harassment, and abuse of process. The claims arise from a years-long campaign of targeted misconduct, during which Defendant weaponized both digital platforms and court access to intimidate, harm, silence, and isolate Plaintiff.
The complaint details a coordinated pattern of conduct that included repeated false statements, malicious court filings, and manipulation of law enforcement. Over the course of 2024–2025, Defendant or her associates initiated multiple police reports and filings that contained material falsehoods, presented perjured statements to the court, and sought to disable the Plaintiff’s ability to defend herself. These actions extended beyond isolated disputes and formed a systematic campaign of harassment.
Online, Defendant launched massive smear efforts across social media platforms, mobilizing networks to circulate knowingly false accusations. Offline, the campaign escalated to physical intimidation: unwanted mail arriving at Plaintiff’s residence, death threats delivered directly, and repeated police presence at her door. These actions not only inflicted emotional and reputational damage but also interfered with Plaintiff’s livelihood, severing her professional and creative networks. Among other harms, Plaintiff lost a significant contract opportunity with Meta following the spread of defamatory claims.
The campaign also extended into Plaintiff’s personal life. Defendant and her associates filed reports with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) aimed at threatening Plaintiff’s husband’s green card status. False allegations of abuse of Plaintiff’s husband and children were circulated and leveraged through official channels, weaponizing institutions against her. This had the compounded effect of isolating Plaintiff from her community and deterring friends and supporters through fear of retaliation.
Defendant’s misuse of backdoor court access and protective order procedures amplified the harm. By exploiting irregular processes and filing under color of law, she repeatedly sought to silence critics, disable detractors, and burden Plaintiff with procedural obstacles. These tactics caused extensive financial, professional, and emotional harm, with cumulative damages continuing to mount.
While this case is distinct from the pending federal civil rights action, it is informed by the same chronology of events. Evidence overlaps significantly, including altered court documents, perjured testimony, metadata inconsistencies, and retaliatory use of police and court processes. Together, the cases illustrate a broader pattern: the calculated use of public narrative, law enforcement, and judicial irregularities to harass and silence a target.
As of this date, Defendant has failed to meaningfully respond to any aspect of the complaint.
